Essential session cookie

The l2_session cookie keeps an authenticated web session. It is HttpOnly, Secure in production and SameSite=Lax, and is required for signed-in account and community features.

Security & rate limiting

Server-side anti-abuse records may use one-way hashes of technical identifiers. These are not advertising cookies and are used to protect registration, login and account-management endpoints.

No advertising profile

The current design does not require advertising cookies, cross-site profiling or sale of browsing data.

Optional analytics later

If non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies are introduced, users in jurisdictions requiring consent will receive an appropriate choice before those technologies are activated.
